It has been a reasonably busy week for the team.

On Sunday 26th September a number of our members were training in the Ben Vorlich and Stùc a’ Chroin area. The purpose of this training was to develop our knowledge in respect of key accident hotspots that we may encounter on a rescue. Along with knowing our own area, every year our volunteers spend many hours ensuring they keep their hill skills up to date.

As outdoor enthusiasts ourselves we know the importance of keeping on top of key mountaineering skills such as navigation which is a vital core competence to staying safe. That said we have to continually keep our ability to a high standard. Training is a great way to make sure we are up to date
and can respond rapidly in areas we get callouts often in adverse conditions where local knowledge is our greatest asset.

The team were also called out on Monday 27th September to assist a mountain biker who had come to difficulty and sustained injuries from a mountain bike incident in the Balqhidder area. The team treated and recovered the casualty by stretcher to the awaiting ambulance services and the casualty was evacuated via Helimed 5.

Again we are grateful for the multiagency collaboration in our operations.
