On Sunday, the team was called out by Police Scotland Forth Valley to a Rescue on Ben Lui to look for a party of five, one of whom was unable to move due to a muscle problem. Given the weather conditions and the fact that the walkers were lost, a full team call out was initiated.
Assisting the team was HM CoastGuard helicopter Rescue 151 from Inverness, and we also had our own search dog Alfie on scene who helped us locate the party and come to their aid.
After a quick casualty first aid assessment, the decision was made to evacuate by air to the RV point. The casualty was well enough to make a recovery at home.
A big thankyou to Rescue 151 who were able to prevent this rescue becoming prolonged and taking several hours with some awesome flying in poor visibility.
Thanks to everyone involved, especially our volunteers, who gave up their spare time to help those in need.
