On Saturday afternoon, the team were alerted by Police Scotland Forth Valley about a lost walker on Ben Lui. The exact location was unknown so the team requested assistance from Maritime and Coastguard Agency who mobilised Rescue 151. We also requested assistance from our neighbours at Oban Mountain Rescue Team. We also had our very own Alfie from SARDA Southern Scotland assisting.

Whilst on route, we were made aware that Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service were spotted in Tyndrum. One of our coordinators stopped for a chat with the troops from RAF Valley MRT who were on route to Skye for a week of training. They very kindly offered to divert and assist us with this incident.

The walker was safely located some hours later.

Huge thanks once again to the local community for their invaluable support. In particular to The Real Food Cafe who kindly supplied warm food for those involved in the incident. Further support was received from the committee of the Crianlarich Village Hall who kindly provided the use of the hall as accommodation overnight for the RAF Valley MRT troops who were unable to get to their Skye accommodation in time.
