The team were honoured to have one of the most distinguished experts in Avalanche, Ski Patrol and Mountain Rescue present at our training lecture yesterday. Also in attendance were Ochils Mountain Rescue Team

Davy Gunn has for many years been a leader in the field of avalanche prevention, safety, and recovery. Using knowledge gained at the forefront of many years in Mountain Instruction Ski Patrol and as former leader of Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team to provide a very informative evening.

Davy delivered a session on avalanche preparedness, assessment of snow conditions and associated rescue techniques.

Additionally those in attendance were informed about some of the safety and rescue tools available for avalanches such as transevors and the Recco Advanced Rescue Technology that helps make people searchable when lost. The evening concluded with a look at some types of trauma often found in mountain incidents.
