Mountain Rescue is not just about getting people from high exposed areas on mountains its about being part of a multi agency response and wider deployment of assets. The primary function of any mountain rescue is to get the best assets and help to a person as quickly as possible. Thankfully on Sunday 17th this happened for rescue number 34. The team were called out by Police Scotland Forth Valley to a Party of two walking just below the subsidiary top of Meall nan Tarmachan on Beinn Chabhair. One of the party sustained a leg injury. Due to the location, time to access the casualty and the clear conditions a Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter which was already operating in Glencoe was requested by the rescue coordinator. The casualty was uplifted and taken to hospital.
